“Bill Coon is a superb guitarist…a wonderful player who gets better and better each time I see him. So, if you have the opportunity to see Bill Coon in concert, do so…I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.”  Rick Cluff, Host, The Early Edition, CBC Radio One

What happens when two renowned musicians re-unite for an intimate concert, mixing jazz standards, and compositions of Canadian jazz greats? The result is a swinging and engaging set of music that shows off the duo’s talent for captivating solos and telepathic interplay. Guitarist Bill Coon and bassist Paul Rushka have recorded, toured and performed in a plethora of musical situations over the years. Together, they’ve made music with Karin Plato, Brad Turner, Laura Crema, Sharon Minemoto, Cory Weeds and many other great Canadian jazz artists, but here they have the opportunity to present an evening of music they love, in an unadorned duo setting of guitar and acoustic bass. It promises to be an exciting and inspiring night of great jazz.

“When I think of Ed Bickert, Oliver Gannon and now Bill Coon, the common qualities that spring to mind are understatement, supportiveness and boldness laced with a healthy dose of humility. Coon’s latest is a smorgasbord for attentive ears and devotees of the genre.”  “Take ‘Autumn Leaves’ with its Jim Hall-like pacing and restrained exuberance; it hands-down ranks as one of the most original versions I’ve yet heard.”  Charles Winokoor, Cadence Magazine
