Join us for a moving and intimate evening where French songs of the 40’s meet those of the new generation of Quebec songwriters.
Born in St-Césaire, Quebec, Gertrude Létourneau has been a musician at the Perley and Rideau Veterans’Health Centre in Ottawa since November 2000. She has developed an extensive repertoire of songs from the 40’s and 50’s. This spring, she is a finalist in the singing competition Ma Première Place des Arts in Montreal.
Accompanied by guitarist Garry Elliott, French hornist Guy Edrington and bassist Tom McMahon, she offers a concert of well-loved French songs as well as songs from the new generation of Quebec songwriters.
This concert will also be presented as part of Les Weed-Ends de la Chanson Québecor, at La Place des Arts in Montreal on May 6th. The program includes songs by Edith Piaf, Charles Trenet, Sarah Toussait- Léveillée and Philippe Brach.
