Join us for a moving and intimate evening where French songs of the 40’s meet those of the new generation of Quebec songwriters.

Born in St-Césaire, Quebec, Gertrude Létourneau has been a musician at the Perley and Rideau Veterans’Health Centre in Ottawa since November 2000. She has developed an extensive repertoire of songs from the 40’s and 50’s. For the past two years she has been a quarter-finalist in the singing competition Ma Première Place des Arts in Montreal.

Accompanied by guitarist Garry Elliott and French hornist Guy Edrington she offers a concert of well-loved French songs as well as songs from the new generation of Quebec songwriters.

This concert will also be presented as part of Les Weed-Ends de la Chanson Québecor, at La Place des Arts in Montreal on May 6th. The program includes songs by Edith Piaf, Charles Trenet, Sarah Toussait- Léveillée and Philippe Brach.
