Kevin Breit and his trio Da DaDa Dada, will hit the Gigspace stage on June 24th
as part of a kick off for his eastern tour. Joining is tuba extraordinaire, Colin Couch and Ottawa’s own, Jesse Stewart. They will be performing songs from Kevin’s various recordings as well as new tunes from his much anticipated record, As A Race Horse.

• Kevin has recorded with Norah Jones, Rosanne Cash, Susana Baca, Bill Frisell, k.d. lang, Hugh Laurie, Cassandra Wilson, Holly Cole, Amos Lee, Quartette, Michael Kaeshammer, Jane Siberry, Molly Johnson, Serena Ryder,Margo Timmins, Oh Susanna, Wailin’ Jennies, Lindi Ortega, Natalie McMaster, Jane Bunnett, and many others. Kevin has performed on recordings that have earned 10 Grammy Awards. Along with ace Brazilian percussionist Cyro Baptista, they have release two CD’s. Their debut album, Supergenerous, signed to the prestigious Blue Note label, garnered critical acclaim internationally.
• He is a member of the all male quartet, Sisters Euclid. They have recorded 10 CD’s and 1 DVD. Their brilliant disc, Run Neil Run, was awarded a Canadian Grammy, a Juno for best instrumental recording in 2006. Kevin has recorded 3 albums with Harry Manx in which was awarded a Maple Blues Award for best acoustic act. In 2004, he was honoured with a ‘Musician of the Year’ Award from the Toronto Musician’s Association. Breit’s trio, Folkalarm, has recorded 5 CD’s and have toured throughout Canada. He has recorded 3 solo discs for his label, Poverty Playlist.
• His group, the Stretch Orchestra, was awarded a Juno for Best Instrumental Recording in 2012. He has just released a new recording with the 16 member, Upper York Mandolin Orchestra, entitled, Field Recording.
