What’s the best way to forget winter and cold weather? Jazz vocalist Nicole Ratté and her friends Tim Bedner on guitar and Normand Glaude on bass have the perfect solution! They will offer you an evening of lovely Brazilian melodies, exciting samba rhythms and indulge in some French bossa novas and funky latin grooves. They’re also planning for some surprises.
This exploration of Brazilian music will create a happy and joyful evening. Nicole, Tim and Normand have so much fun coming up with new projects, no doubt you’ll be taken by this collaboration.
Nicole Ratté is a jazz vocalist in the Gatineau-Ottawa area. A musician and singer since childhood, Nicole evolved in different styles before developing a true passion for jazz, passion that she now shares with her dozens of students since a decade of teaching her vocal jazz workshops. She is known for her warm and effervescent presence as well as her light and sensual voice. At home on the stage, she delivers vibrant interprétations of jazz standards, pop songs, Latin, in four languages. She recorded a CD in 2010 entitled “When Somebody Thinks You’re Wonderful”.
Guitarist Tim Bedner is a modern lyrical composer and improviser, and an award-winning teacher and performer. Reviewers have called him “a talent and a force, playing with grace, style, passion, and inventiveness.” His CD recording “Of Light and Shadow” debuted in the #1 spot of the CMJ jazz chart.
Normand Glaude is one of the most sought after bass player in the area. He not only plays with several of the most talented artists but has also recorded several jazz albums in his Morning Anthem Studio where both Tim and Nicole’s CDs were recorded.
