“Monday’s Dream is an unapologetically beautiful record, one of subtle delicacy
and elegance, and alluring grace and finesse.”
John Kelman, All About Jazz
For over four decades Roddy Ellias has been one of Canada’s most respected guitarists, composers and jazz educators. He began his musical adventure improvising on his grandmother’s piano but soon switched to his life long instrument, the guitar. Roddy has performed with a variety of jazz luminaries including Lee Konitz, Tom Harrel, Marc Copland, Joel Frahm, Lonnie Smith, David Liebman and many more. He has devoted most of his musical life to combining elements, aesthetics and techniques of classical
music with those of jazz.
“As much as I love playing with other musicians, there’s a freedom that comes with playing solo guitar that is central to the way I hear music unfold. Playing at GigSpace is magical. The sound is perfect for the guitar and the listening audience is a dream!”
