Trombone Summit Returns to GigSpace!

Ottawa’s finest two-trombone jazz trio is returning to GigSpace!  Trombonists Peter Turner and Mark Ferguson will be accompanied by ace guitarist Tim Bedner.

The Trombone Summit last appeared two years ago and has been delighting Ottawa jazz fans since the early 2000s.    Propelled by Tim’s infallible sense of time and groove, Peter and Mark draw from a vast repertoire that exploits the oft-overlooked characteristics of their chosen instrument.  Expect to hear a mix of popular and lesser-known standards, with plenty of spontaneity, surprises and good humour.

In addition to being one of Canada’s top jazz trombonists, Mark Ferguson is a pianist, composer, arranger, producer, and educator. Peter Turner studied privately with Mark in the late-1980s and performs with Peter Liu and the Pollcats, the Magnolia Rhythm Kings, plus various Toronto groups.  Tim Bedner is a performance instructor at Carleton University and in high demand as a guitarist for singers and instrumentalists.
